"The Return" Matthew Casey

            Return To the Right Pursuit

"I encourage you:  make the pursuit of your life to love, honor, and glorify your Savior in all you do and in all you are.  Surrender your rights, goals, dreams, even your life itself to the One who died for you,  and trust that He will guide you in His highest will for your life.  Pursue Him first and foremost, seeking "first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness."  Your Father will grant all you need to give God your utmost for His highest.
Live with passion for God's glory,  not for your purpose."

This book was given to each one in our church by a woman passionate about serving her Lord,  "The Return" by Matthew Casey.  I will be sharing bits and pieces from time to time,  such truth should be
shared!

Waiting on God

Do you ever get ahead of the Lord?  I did this week!
I became impatient about needing more bookcases
before we start back to school.... so Tuesday I called
Julie about lunch time and said, "Hey,  you want to
go to Ikea today?"  and she said, "today? Yes".
So off we went with baby Asher all the way to Frisco
2 1/2 hours away.  We bought 3 book cases and some misc.
and head home.  As soon as we get out on the main road
I notice the clouds up ahead!  Black storm clouds and here
we had 3 bookcases in the back of the truck!!!!  We prayed
and called home to get the guys to pray for us because
I am not a seasoned driver in Dallas and certainly not in
a thunderstorm :).  I had to buy a tarp and tie it over the
bookcases.  It rained so hard most of the way home and we
had to stop several times for me to fix the tarp!!!!  It took us a
good 3 1/2 hours to get home.  One of the bookcases that I bought
had water damage by the time we made it back to the house:(.
But I told her the most important thing is that we were safely
back home.
Anyway,  long story short,  look what the Lord had me find this
weekend..........  these white shelves that are for
sale because you know I have the Ikea ones already  ....
and no these are not the ones from Ikea that have the
water damage,  I'm keeping them:p

And these beauties!  Which I will be keeping because they
match my dining room furniture perfect!!  Isn't God wonderful!!

On a much more serious note!

I started this blog about 6 months ago with the intention of sharing some treasures along the way but most importantly sharing my faith.  I seemed to have gotten off course and have just been sharing treasures of the material sort.  Life is so busy and I just log on long enough to post items for sale or pictures of decorating the house or sweet babies,  and seem to have lost sight of what is really important.  I  apologize.    I  am by the grace of  my Lord and Saviour going to try to share the true treasures more often!  The verse that says... "for where your treasure is there will your heart be also "  is so true!!  I  have been caught up in sharing and searching for worldly treasures that I have missed some opportunities for times with family,  friends and time alone with my heavenly Father.
I have to say though that this blog has been a true blessing!  In meeting people I would have never have crossed paths with.  Finding a sisterhood with all of you.  I do believe the Lord would have us to be Proverbs 31 women,  busy with building a home,  loving our families,  being wise stewards and most importantly lovingly sharing HIM.
So this is something that has been on my heart for some time,  I have a wonderful friend that has a website http://www.knowimsaved.com/  ,  this is a site that will help anyone that doubts their salvation,  needs to know how to be saved,  or just needs some great preaching.  Please check it out if you have any of these needs or know of someone that does.

My Summer Memories!!

When I was 11 or 12 years old,  I had a bike like this only it was purple!
The memories this vintage bicycle brings back,  Necie, Pattie and I were
riding down the biggest hill on our lake road one day with me on the opposite
side of them,  and me screaming at the top of my lungs,  "I love ______ ______"
(i won't dare say his name now,  he did not feel the same about me:( ).  Oh what
trouble and pain we bear all in the name of young puppy love!  As I was flying
down the hill I noticed my pedals going faster than my feet and my cousin's face
as she saw me----she looked petrified!  The next thing I knew,  gravel was grinding
into my cheeks(ouch) and I was wondering why no one stopped me from rolling over
and over on that hot pavement...When I stopped,  I remember Pattie riding off to get help
and then going to the doctor.  My head swelled up like a watermelon and my face had so
many scabs that everyone thought I had impetigo!  I am pretty sure I had a concussion but
the worst part was my bike.... it was doubled up,  I had hit the pavement so hard that the wheel
had folded over!  So young love,   vintage bicycles,  hot pavement and great friends.  That's
what summer was for me!

Our journey of life is about real progress,
not perfection.
It's not about doing one thing 100 percent better,
It's a matter of  doing 100 things 1 percent better each day.
Progress is evolutionary,
not Revolutionary.
What matters most is showing up for your life ...
whether you feel like it or not.
Ask yourself,  "What two or three little things can I do today
that will move me forward?"
You'll be amazed at how much distance you can cover ,
by taking it in increments.
The little things add up;
the inches turn to MILES.
Like so many Pearls,
before long look what you have...
